Routes and activities in the area
You will find an amazing mosaic of typical Metiterranean towns along the 200 kms. that constitutes the Costa Brava. Beautiful beaches and small coves where the pine trees come down to meet the golden sands and the abrupt rocky coast line that gives the Costa Brava its name.
Nature park of Montseny-Guilleries
The bird reserve of the River Tordera delta offers the visitor a natural landscape of interest. Just 30 kms, inland we find the nature park of Montseny-Guilleries, a high rock formation with its highest point at Matagalls, 1700 mts. high. A calm world full of woods and springs where we find small towns known for their romanic artistry and ceramics (Breda) or for their mineral spa waters (Sant Hilari Sacalm, Arbúcies).
Interesting cultural areas
Going from Blanes to Tossa de mar, we come across remains of the Roman and Medieval eras. The Vila vella – old town of Tossa de Mar has conserved almost intact the ancient medieval wall , an unique sea front monument.
From Blanes, you can visit Barcelona, an authentic Mediterranean city, or even Girona. To the north we find the Roman and Greek ruins at Empuries, the Dalí museum in Figueres; and the protected zones of the Nature Park of Cap de Creus and the marine reserve of the Illes Medes at L'Estartit.
Gastronomy
The gastronomy is another attraction of this area, consisting of the most elaborate Mediterranean dishes based on the fresh sea food produce and fresh grown vegetable produce of the area.
